August has arrived, we've celebrated Lughnasadh and the time has come for the next WhiteWicca competition. This month, we're giving all you budding poets a chance to shine.
As most of you probably know by now, Vita, one of our Moderators and regulars, is brewing soaps and other smellies like a mad alchemist and has made some gorgeous bubbly treats. She is launching herself as a soap producer and is behind this competition.
As part of her marketing, Vita would like to have a poem about soaps, bubbles and bathtime that she can use in her literature, and as she's better at making soap than poems, here's your chance to shine (in more ways than one!).
The challenge is to write a poem or ditty of no more than 20 lines about soap, bubbles and shampoo. The prize is:
A copy of Valerie Worwood's Fragrant Pharmacy (a book I wouldn't be without), with lots of ideas for essential oils, from first aid, to pet care to cookery and lots more between.
A bar of Freyja luxury skin soothing soap made with pure ingredients and calendula petals, skin moisurising oils and only pure natural ingredients.
A bar of Shiva madly bubbly champagne soap that's made with nourishing oils and plant extracts and filled with skin-kind ingredients and not one chemical or preservative!
Last, but not least, there will be a bar of Herne soap. Made from natural ingredients with men in mind (though I love the smell of it and will happily steal it from Kenaz!), it is natural, gentle and lathers really well for those of you who like to use soap for shaving. Best of all it is not tested on any animals apart from Kenaz, me and Vita.
See? Now you know why I said that you'd have your chance to shine! Whoever wins this prize will be squeaky clean and shiny!
The closing date for the competition is Midnight on Friday 26th August. Please submit your entires to Galdra through the private message system and if there is an outright winer it will be announced over the Bank Holiday weekend. It there are a number of very good entries that are difficult to separate, we might put them in the forum and ask you to vote, but that will be the decision of the judges.
Good luck and get writing...!
